Stony Brook Vineyards 2013 Ghost Gum White

Wine of Origin

Western Cape

Varietals

53% Semillon, 47% Sauvignon Blanc

Analysis

Alcohol 13.0%

Total Acidity 5.9 g/l

pH 3.45

Residual Sugar 3.9 g/l

Both varietals were barrel fermented and matured for eleven months in 2nd fill French oak barriques.

The nose is reminiscent of creamy butterscotch, hazelnuts and biscuit. The Semillon gives a wonderful creaminess and texture, which is balanced by the freshness and crisp acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc. The delicate wooding makes it an excellent food wine and pairs beautifully with rich seafood.
