"The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc, which includes 4% barrel fermented Sémillon, has a crisp and slightly grassy bouquet, as usual very well defined with great precision, something that you do not always find on Sauvignon Blanc. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, touches of nettle, fresh gooseberries and citrus fruit with just a dab of stem ginger towards the finish. This is excellent - you just cannot go wrong with this."

Eight different Sauvignon Blanc clones were used to capture diverse vineyard flavors. Each block was vinified separately, with some batches were fermented naturally, others on their skins and the remainder inoculated. Stirring of the lees brings an unmistakable Iona texture.

Aromas of pure white grapefruit, intense tropical fruit, ripe gooseberry, and fleshy kiwi fruit overlay Iona’s distinctive herbal and floral undertones. The palate is keenly balanced, showing cut green apples and lime marmalade, followed by great minerality and length.
